our garden

This Spring we planted our first garden! And I love it! Here are some highlights! The irises were planted by previous home owners (gotta love perennials!), but everything else, we planted this year! I love using pots, and think they add such a fun look to the garden. I also love succulents, and definitely plan to add more in the future. We got some herbs and veggies too, so it’s exciting to watch them grow and benefit from them in the kitchen.

my friend, the dragon fly

Well, I felt like we were friends after I got done with his photo shoot! He let me get so close and was so still. He was such a great model for me! I think he’s so cool looking (just assuming he’s a he). I love how he looks so different at every angle!

summer flowers

collage

Since we bought our house in the winter, every season brings with it new surprises. In the spring it was my cherry blossom tree in my front yard. This summer it is these beautiful flowers in front of my house. They sprung up a couple weeks ago when we had some rainy weather. I’m reminded of what an awesome creator God I serve. He makes such beautiful things!

my cherry blossoms

In my previous post, my cherry blossom tree was covered in snow. Here’s how beautiful it is not covered in snow. I can’t believe I have all of these beautiful blossoms and it’s not even spring yet! Since we just bought our house, it has been such a joy to see the trees begin to bloom for the first time. I had no idea this was in our front yard! We have a couple dogwoods in our backyard, and I’m so excited to see them blossom soon too!

my snow view

The view out my window today is just fabulous!! I love how beautiful everything looks when it’s covered in snow, tree branches especially!  I have watched the snow flurries fall today, and I just had to capture a few of the amazing views I’ve had today! I just love having so many trees!

This is our cherry blossom tree, which began blooming last month. And it was such a wonderful surprise because we bought the house in the winter and had no idea what types of beautiful blooms we would start to see, especially this early in the year!

Not sure what type of three this is, but it is also starting to blossom :0). This is the view I’ve enjoyed out of my office window today.

I think these little robins like the snow. I watched 4 of them playing in the backyard, then later they were in the front and I was able to capture the last two images through my office window before he flew away :0)

i love fall!

There are so many things about fall that I love. I love pumpkins and leaves, I love the beautiful colors of fall, and the wonderful smells of fall. Yesterday was such a beautiful fall day with a clear blue sky; it made me grateful to our Creator for such beauty in nature and the calmness of the weather. But I even enjoy a fall day like today. It’s foggy and wet outside, but the colors in the leaves still pop when I look out my window. I enjoy the warmth of a hot drink and the smells of a fall candle- so even indoors I’m reminded that it’s fall! I’m reminded to be thankful to God for the seasons in life. They are always changing, but before this season changes, I hope that I fully enjoy God and His purposes for me in this season- that I learn the lessons that He wants me to learn, that I grow deeper in my walk with Him, that I grasp opportunities to serve others who are in my life during this season, that I would reflect the joy of Christ to those who do not know him.
